Adrienne Leeds is a South Carolina Licensed Midwife and Certified Clinical Herbalist. After numerous women told her she had "midwife energy" she began to study birth in 1999 and to attend births as a doula and midwife assistant in 2001. Embracing a holistic, flexible, client-centered approach, Adrienne feels honored to serve families during the wondrous journey of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. She and her husband welcomed their son with a beautiful home waterbirth in 2005.
Adrienne has studied birth and women's health with Wise Womanhood, The Matrona, The Association of Texas Midwives' Midwifery Training Program, Postpartum Ayurdoula Ysha Oakes, and Dr. Rosita Arvigo. From 2005-2009 Adrienne apprenticed with two homebirth midwives; and in winter 2009 she completed a month-long midwifery internship in Cusco, Peru.
Adrienne is a 2001 graduate of the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies' 3-year Clinical Herbalism program. She maintains current certifications in Adult and Neonatal CPR, and is also a Reiki II practitioner.
