More and more mothers are choosing to ingest their placentas as a nutritional supplement. Placentophagy is a nearly universal mammalian behavior, usually done shortly after a baby's birth. We will lovingly dehydrate and encapsulate your placenta for you, so that you may reap the many benefits.
Please contact us before your birth to arrange this service. Ideally we will start with a fresh, refrigerated placenta; however if circumstances make pickup within 48 of birth hours unlikely, please lay the placenta as flat as possible and freeze it.
As the placenta represents the unity of the motherbaby dyad, we honor it with Reiki throughout the process. Your placenta will be slowly dehydrated over a period of many hours, ground to a powder, then encapsulated in vegetarian cellulose capsules. We do not employ the TCM method of steaming, as we feel this can denature some of the proteins, hormones, and vitamins.
The benefits of consuming the nutrient-rich placenta are numerous. It fosters connectivity between a mother and baby, enhances breastmilk production, soothes the nerves, provides the mother with energy reserves, and promotes postpartum hormone balance.
Please allow for one full week between pick-up and delivery of your capsules.
